The Bay Area has many micro-climates. For example, it may be cloudy in Napa but sunny in San Francisco. Furthermore, if it’s raining in the morning it often clears up in the afternoon. Some of our best sailing days are right after the rain. If it rains in the morning the water is smoother, the winds are kinder, and the air is very clear so visibility is enhanced.
Because of this, we do not allow cancellations on the day of a trip due to inclement weather. Just because there is a chance of rain or it looks like rain does not mean it will rain and your charter will still be going out. If it’s raining at 10:00 am and your excursion is at 1:00 pm your charter will not be cancelled.
The tours usually run in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, however, Bay Voyager may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If Bay Voyager cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (based on availability) or receive credit for a future event. We do everything we can to give you as much notice as possible and not cancel the trip.
